About us
- The diocese of Adilabad, established in 1999, is spread over the four civil districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial and Asifabad KB in the Northern part of Telangana State. As situated in one of the most underdeveloped areas of India with people mostly belonging to the backward classes, the Idiocese of Adilabad has to do a lot in the fields of evangelization, education and social welfare. Diocese of Adilabad, in the recent past, started several new projects for the spiritual and social development of the people with generous support of many benefac- tors and well-wishers. Now in the wake of the covid- 19 pandemic, the diocese of Adilabad is at pains to carry out such projects. At the same time, people in the diocese of Adilabad, especially the poor and the marginalised, are evermore in need of great care and support. In this context, I approach you, dear brothers and sisters, with an earnest request to help the diocese of Adilabad carry out various projects presented here for the glory of God and the good of the people.

SPONSOR A MISSIONARY
- There are 75 priests, sisters and catechists engaged in the ministry of preaching the Gospel in the diocese of Adilabad. The diocese is at present struggling to support these missionaries.

FOOD FOR THE POOR - ANNADANAM
- Every day around 250 poor people are given free lunch in three places in the diocese of Adilabad including the bishop's house. Now we are in the process of extending this food dis- tribution to three more places. You can give food to one hungry person with just Rs. 20. Thus, with Rs. 100 you can give food to 5 persons and with Rs. 1000 to 50 persons. You can sponsor a day's meal with Rs. 5000 on birthdays, anniversaries and the days of commemoration of the dead.

HELP FOR EDUCATING THE POOR CHILDREN
- Adilabad is one of the areas with high rate of illiteracy and dropouts in the state of Telangana. The diocese of Adilabad has started a scheme called "Vidya Sahaya Nidhi" to educate the poor children. Around 800 children are taken care of in our boarding houses with the help of various agencies and benefactors in the current academic year. You can sponsor a child with Rs. 9000 per year or make a one time contribution for the education of the poor children.

HELP FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE POOR GIRLS
- Many poor families are unable to meet the expense of the marriage of their girls. Because of the lack of financial resources many girls are not getting married in a dignified manner. Now the diocese of Adilabad has started a new scheme with the name "Kalyana Mithra" to support the poor families for the marriage of the girls. You can help a girl with Rs. 50,000 for her marriage on the occasions of marriages and wedding anniversaries in your families.

HOUSING PROJECT
- There are hundreds of homeless people and people living in ruined houses in the diocese of Adilabad. With their own resources, they are unable to build a house or repair their houses due to their abject poverty or serious illness of the members of the families. You can build a house with Rs. 300,000 for a poor family or give a one-time contribution for repairing the ruined or old houses. On the occassion of your house blessing, you can help a homeless person.

CONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE CHURCHES
- In several villages, the faithful have no proper church to celebrate the Holy Mass. At present they are celebrating the Holy Mass in houses or some sheds and it is very often disrupted by the rains. Now we are in the process of constructing churches in such villages. Construction of churches in the villages will give a sense of identity and great strength to the Christian faithful. The estimated cost for a village church is Rs. 10 lacs.
